An initiative by ZonMw and patient organisations
The Kickstarter responds to the growing need among researchers for a clear, step-by-step plan to enable them to get off to a smooth start with patient or client participation. The tool was developed behalf of the Dutch organisations ZonMW, KWF Kankerbestrijding, Alzheimer Nederland, De Hartstichting and Harteraad. In three projects, researcher Simone Harmsen analysed experiences with the Kickstarter in practice. She described her findings in her PhD thesis: ‘Structurally embedding patient involvement in the health research system (opent in nieuw tabblad)’. Read more about how the Kickstarter came about below.
We have made every effort to translate the Kickstarter texts accurately into English. You may still come across the odd reference to Dutch-language texts. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
